GPUMC is an urban church with a rich history spanning over 90 years. One of the first churches in the Richmond area to offer a contemporary worship service in addition to its traditional service, GPUMC opens its heart through ministries such as CARITAS, a food pantry and a number of local and global missions supported by the United Methodist Women. Our minds are open to learning from our neighbors—no matter how familiar or different their experiences may be. GPUMC’s doors are open to all through our worship services and the many opportunities to serve God, our community and each other.
Church is not for the perfect, but rather a sacred place to meet God in all His manifestations; a safe place to learn, grow, love and be loved. It is a dynamic place to share our struggles, celebrate our victories and find encouragement from others who search for God’s will and listen for His voice. We welcome you as Christ welcomes each of us into His grace and mercy!
