HEALING SERVICES OFFERED

Healing Services are offered at Ginter Park on the second and fourth Sundays at 5 PM in the Sanctuary or parlor as needed.  Everyone is invited.  If you have friends who are interested in the Service of Healing according to Our Lord, invite them also.  We look forward to seeing you there.  You may enter by the Side Door or through the Garden Door.  A greeter will be there to welcome you.
The Healing Team would like to thank those who were eagerly assisted us at the first service.  Please remember this ministry in your prayers.  It is a compassionate and loving ministry. “Jesus now called the twelve and gave them authority and  power to deal with all demons and cure diseases.  He commissioned them to preach the news of God’s kingdom and heal the sick.”   Luke 9:1-2 MSG

IN THE NEWS

The following was an article in the Creature Chronicles, Volume 20, No. 2

….the Ginter Park United Methodist Youth Group who sent 13 enthusiastic members to spend a full Saturday at our shelter, helping to tend the property by pulling weeds, trimming hedges, sweeping walkways, cleaning windows, planting flowers and more!  We appreciate all of their diligent efforts and now know the true meaning of the expression “working like a dog.”  Tail wags to Ginter Park UMC Youth Group!!!

TAIZE SERVICE at Centenary UMC

Each month, Centenary UMC holds a Taizé service on the second Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The service is held in the Upper Room chapel. The Taizé Prayer Service is a form of meditative common prayer that comes from a tradition in Taizé, France. Gathered in the presence of Christ, the worship service is contemplative and uses simple music, candles, prayers and readings to invite the mystery of God to become tangible. Songs are easy to learn and participation is invited. It is a great way to wrap up your week and begin a new week refreshed. Make some quiet time for yourself and become renewed! Centenary UMC is located at 411 East Grace Street in downtown Richmond. There is free parking located behind the church. Call them at 648-8319 or see their webpage at www.centumc.org.

CPR TRAINING

A class is being planned for the end of October for CPR training.  All of the nursery staff along with many ushers and members of the church are interested in participating.  If you feel led to become more knowledgeable in CPR please contact Anne Durrett (262-8651) to sign-up.
