Greatly Energized & Motivated Seniors
Missions. Spiritual Growth. Nurturing. Worship. These words may be the first ones that come to mind when describing what a church has to offer. However, having FUN TOGETHER strengthens our bonds with each other and renews our spirits to do the work of Christ. G.E.M.S offers a number of opportunities for members and guests to share time together outside of regular worship. Activities range from sight seeing day trips to dining out and everything in between. G.E.M.S is not limited to seniors--Everyone is welcome!
September 16: We will be meeting at the church at 9:30 am. for a trip to Stratford Hall, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee, and the National Park Service reconstruction of the birthplace of George Washington. We ask that you bring a bag lunch for this trip, and we will supply the drinks and desserts. The cost of this trip is $15 and we anticipate being back at the church by 3:30 p.m.
October 20: Trip to Riverside Dinner Theater to see the musical CHICAGO. We will meet at the church at 10:00 a.m. for at trip to the Riverside Dinner Theater in Fredericksburg, VA. This is the first theater to receive permission to produce this show off Broadway. Cost is $50 per person and includes your entrance to the play as well as a three course luncheon. We have a limited number of tickets reserved, so please call early to advise us of your interest in this trip.
November 18th: Gems will meet at the church at 10:30 a.m. for a craft day featuring crafts from around the world and a lunch centered on holiday foods.
December 9th: Gems Christmas Dinner with the Womer's in the Church Fellowship Hall.
December 28th: Meet at the Church at 6 p.m. to go on a bus tour of the Christmas lights with a visit to the Womer's home for Christmas treats.
