We are excited to have softball back at Ginter Park UMC this year! We have joined the West Richmond Men's Church Softball League, which is in it's 65th year.
The name "Prodigals" was chosen from a hat containing several suggestions from the congregation. Congratulations and thanks to Michelle Peregoy for coming up with our name. It fits us well, as we are returning to the softball game after many years without a team, and as Pastor Dorothy notes, Prodigals always find their way "home".
Our opening day Roster: Chris Otto, Don Turner, Christopher Meccia, Corbin, Carson, and Collen Fox, Jamie Bailey, Gene Carr, Brian Harrigan, Bryan Vandanna, Mike Balsom, Jesse Crim, Carlos Rodriguez, and Jim Daley. If you see these guys at church, give them a soft pat on the back (they are probably still sore from their last game) and wish them luck.
Games are held Tuesday evenings at Parker Field (next to The Diamond) or Westhampton School field (Patterson Ave between Maple and Libbie). Times and locations will be in the bulletins and newsletter, as well as this page. Please come on out and support our men!

Week Three 4/27 - vs Westhampton Baptist at Parker Field. Game 1 GP 4, Westhampton 17. Game 2 GP 3 Westhampton 16.
Week Four 5/4 - bye (no game played)
Week Five 5/11 - vs Saint Michael's Catholic at Westhampton. Game 1 GP 5, St. Michaels 9. Game 2 GP 5 St. Michaels 4.
Week Six 6/22 - vs Grove Ave Baptist at Westhampton. Game 1: GP 4, Grove Baptist 15. Game 2 GP 6, Grove 13.
Week Seven 5/25 - vs Grace Covenant at Westhampton. Game 1 GP 9, Grace Covenant 7. Game 2 GP 3 Grace Cov. 7.
Week Eight 6/8 - vs First Presbyterian at Parker Field. Game 1 First Pres 16, GP 5. Game 2 GP 3, First Pres Lots. We lost count.
Week Nine 6/15 - vs Saint Paul's Catholic at Parker Field. Game 1 GP 8, St. Paul's 1; Game 2 GP 22, St. Paul's 11.
