WELCOME TO Ginter Park United Methodist Church
Whether you've been attending church for years or haven't stepped into a sanctuary in decades, we hope you'll come and join us Sunday if you're looking for a church in our hometown.
For over 100 years, we’ve been actively engaged in our community and beyond putting faith and love into action. Our prayer is that we continue to extend our reach of God’s love to the world.
Ginter Park United Methodist Church in Richmond, Virginia celebrates that all persons are created in God's image and are of sacred worth. We extend hospitality and encourage full participation of all, regardless of age, race or ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, socioeconomic status, educational background, and physical or mental ability. We invite all people to join us in our faith journey toward greater love, understanding, and mutual respect
A CHURCH WITH A PURPOSE
Ginter Park UMC is an urban church with a rich history spanning over 100 years. We are a small but active congregation that wants to continue to live out our motto, as much for others as for ourselves.
We are a diverse congregation from across the metro-Richmond area ranging in age, backgrounds, and life experience. Our doors are open to everyone that wants to join us in service and worship. We have a traditional worship service that incorporates the beauty and majesty of ancient traditions. It is held in our Sanctuary designed for an ideal worship setting. We also have a contemporary worship service that is rooted in the tenets of United Methodism but conducted in a more modern and informal fashion in our social hall and worship space downstairs. In service, we support missions both local and abroad. We are partnered with and furnish space to local organizations that provide support to our neighbors. We also contribute to our community directly through activities like our food pantry.
Foremost on our minds is our desire to be involved in helping serve our community and providing opportunities for our neighbors to join us in this effort. Because we are located in a part of our city where affluence neighbors poverty, we feel we are being called to do all we can to bridge that gap. We invite you to join us in this mission
